Job Opportunities at St. Paul's United Church.

Music Director

St. Pau's seeks a part time (approximately 10 hours per week) music director to lead congregational music, choir, and provide musical accompaniment for Sunday worship.   St. Paul's enjoys an eclectic range of music from traditional choral and sacred music, and classical styles to jazz, broadway, and contemporary praise.  If  the music stirs the heart, it moves the soul, then it can lead us closer to God.  We encourage our music director to explore and introduce us to all sorts of new music, while also leading us singing old favourites and traditional hymns.  Frequently, we hold a 'joyful noise' service which is a more like a jam session  / sing-a-long.

In the sanctuary, St. Paul's has a Rodgers organ and a Yamaha 8 foot grand.  We also enjoy the talents of a retired professional percussionist and an 8-voice Praise Band.  Other rooms are equipped with an Yamaha digital piano, Yamaha upright, and an older-model upright.  And we have lots of percussion instruments!

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in church music and liturgy, experienced in leading congregational singing and choirs, be competent in both organ and piano playing (and maybe another instrument or two??).

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings (aka, choir night in Canada!) at 7:30.

Please email inquiries and / or applications to kwanam@rogers.com .
