Today we celebrate the 96th Anniversary of the Inauguration of
The United Church of Canada with a special service by our Moderator,
The Right Rev. Dr. Richard Bott.
Come, let us worship the Lord with thanks and praise!
Prayers
Dear God of strength and compassion,
this week we saw devastation in the Muslim community when
four members of a family were struck and killed in London, Ontario
because of their faith.
We deeply grieve this loss, and
we pray for the family members and friends whose lives were touched,
and made better, sweeter, by this family.
Jesus showed us time and time again, through his words and his actions
that the greatest gift we can both give and receive is love;
that we are to love You, O God, and to love our neighbours as ourselves.
You O God, are love.
We offer this family, this community, our neighbours, our love and support
as they bear the anguish of this tragedy.
We commit this prayer to You, in Jesus' name.
Amen.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
