June 4th we celebrate Pentecost, the event that marks the beginning of the church in Jesus' time. June is also a month when we are called to be attentive to the stories and history of First Nations peoples in Canada. As we light the Pentecost Fire, what parallels can we see with Aboriginals' practice of a sacred fire? As we kindle the flame of faith, what are we called to do for truth and reconciliation in the land?
